The Kellyville Bushrangers we’re formed as a club by Parramatta Rugby League to participate in the NSWRL Metropolitan Cup Competition In 1996. The Clubs ground was established at Kellyville Park, Memorial Avenue, Kellyville - where it remains today. The Kellyville Bushrangers featured many former Hills Bulls members to start, as well as up and coming NRL players - The most well known being Australian & NSW representative, Bulldogs captain Andrew Ryan.
Other players also featured in First Grade football at various stages, including; John Wilson (France, Parramatta, Wests Tigers & Catalans) Tim Patterson (Gold Coast, Sydney Tigers, Parramatta)
The Kellyville Bushrangers entered The Parramatta District Junior Rugby League Competition in 1997 in order to capitalise on the growing Kellyville & surrounding areas. It was also seen as a good opportunity to have a supporting club for the Metropolitan Cup Squad. The inaugural junior season saw the club field 2 sides - Under 9s and Under 10s - and the club has grown from there!
In 2004 - the club adopted the expanded name “Kellyville Rouse Hill Bushrangers” in order to capitalise on the expanding Rouse Hill Area. By this time the Metropolitan Cup Era had ended, and the club was a fully fledged Parramatta District club featuring junior teams and A Grade. The Club featured 9 teams in 2004 - and the club continued to expand and Grow.
Over the Years the club has had its fair share of highlights, as well as some low points. The club has won numerous awards, whilst its leadership have also been awarded numerous Honours! From Parramatta District awards, to National awards - our club has been recognised as being leaders in the community for many years!
The club is proud of its achievements - and continues to think outside the square when it comes to its membership. Kellyville Bushrangers were the first club to feature an all girl team to play in a mixed competition. The “Princesses of Rugby League” competed in the Under 6s competition in 2010. In 2018 - we featured an Under 14s team in the Inaugural Under 14 girls competition which featured one of our original “Princesses”.
We are committed to living by our Clubs motto of “Everyone’s Club”. We cater to boys and girls, men and women. We have a very diverse mix of backgrounds and ethnicities, and are excited about being active participants in the Try Time Rugby League Program In 2019 - a program that caters to those with special needs.
In 2020 the Kellyville Bushrangers had 4 teams make Grand Finals with our Under 16's Girls winning the comp.
